Nach der erfreulichen Meldung über den Verkauf der JA2 Rechte, hat die JA-Galaxy ein kleines Interview mit Christina Ginger, Director of Communications von Strategy First, geführt und ein paar interessante Neuigkeiten herausgefunden.

Demnach arbeitet Strategy First im Moment an einem JA2&JA2UB Gold Pack, während es für ein JA3 leider noch keine genaueren Pläne gibt.
Außerdem haben sie einige Leute des Sirtech-Teams übernommen, unter anderem auch Ian Currie, ehemaliger Projektleiter von Jaggedalliance 2 .. na wenn das keine gute Nachricht ist :)

Q)What are the plans with the JA 2 and JA 2 UB?

It has not yet been made official, but we are working on combining JA2 and JA 2 UB into a Gold Pack. An announcement will be made soon.

Q) Has Strategy First hired, or subcontracted any former Sir-tech staff? If yes, who?

Yes. Our relationship with Sirtech has given us the opportunity to hire several members of the Sirtech development team who are now working for Strategy First. Several programmers, artists and designers, including the original creator, Ian Currie are on the team.

Es scheint sich was um Jaggedalliance zu bewegen und nein .. es ist diesmal kein Aprilscherz ;)

Wie Sir-tech mitteilte, haben sie die Rechte der Jagged Alliance Serie an Strategy First Inc. verkauft.

Jagged Alliance Franchise Licensed to Strategy First
Ottawa, Canada, June 4, 2002 - As part of its restructuring plan, Sir-tech Canada Limited has signed an agreement with Strategy First to manage all business matters connected with the Jagged Alliance series. The series consists of Jagged Alliance 1, Deadly Games, Jagged Alliance 2, and Jagged Alliance: Unfinished Business released in 1995, 1996, 1998, and 2000 respectively.

"The Jagged Alliance series has been a world-wide hit, and has had a tremendous following among end-users," said Robert Sirotek, Vice President of Sir Tech. "We did not want to leave our loyal fans of the series without ongoing support, so we entered a partnership with Strategy First to provide end-users with this service. Strategy First will provide us with access to distribution channels and bring the series under 'one roof' to permit better quality control and management of the franchise. It is always better that a franchise of this size and quality be managed from one source."

"Strategy First couldn't be happier with managing Sir-tech's Jagged Alliance franchise," said Don McFatridge, President for Strategy First. "We have been fans of the franchise for years and look forward to bringing the series back into the retail channel and extending the title with future products in the years to come.

As part of the agreement with Sir-tech, Strategy First will handle all sales, distribution, and end-user support of Jagged Alliance's back catalog.

In addition to the agreement made with Strategy First to manage the Jagged Alliance franchise, another partner is being sought to handle the Wizardry franchise in the same manner. Announcements shall be made public when a home for select Wizardry back-catalog products is found.
